Chris Cooper

Co-Designer

Chris Cooper is currently the percussion coordinator/arranger at Oakville High School (MO), Alton High School (IL) and Parkway Central High School in Chesterfield, Missouri. He is also an active percussion consultant and arranger/composer in the St. Louis area.

From 1995 to 1998, Chris marched the Quiet Storm Drum and Bugle Corps from St. Louis. From there, he went to march Division I with the Crossmen and aged‐out with the Bluecoats in 2000. After suffering from drum corps withdrawal, he joined the Bluecoats percussion staff in 2002 and 2003. Throughout his marching experience, he marched under the leadership of Thom Hannum, Colin McNutt, Brian Tinkle, and Dan DeLong.

As for indoor percussion, Chris was on staff for Gateway Indoor Percussion during the 2004 season. He was also a staff member for many scholastic lines such as Parkway West HS and Francis Howell North HS. Cooper was also the percussion caption head for Rockwood Summit High School’s “New Breed Percussion” indoor from 2005 to 2009. Chris was one of the staff members who helped start the Intrepid Percussion Ensemble. He was with them in 2007 and 2009, helping the ensemble earn a bronze medal in PIA.

Chris is currently seeking a degree in performance at the University of Missouri in St. Louis where he is studying under Matt Henry. Outside of marching percussion, Chris is also the drum set player for the fusion jazz combo, the Black Hole Incident as well as other jazz, fusion, R&B, rock, Christian/gospel, Latin and country groups on drum set, Latin percussion and electric bass.

Mr. Cooper (Coop) is proud to be on the Innovative Percussion Team.
